Walking with Dinosaurs

When the Jurassic Park movie was first released, I actually thought it to be possible to reincarnate these wondrous creatures. I mean, looking at their theorectical arguments in the movie, it does make sense that we can actually clone dinosaurs.

But then, why would man want to do that at this day and age?

What can anyone do with a T-Rex, except to watch it destroy half of the world's architecture.

The whole premise of Michael Crichton's analogy reawakened the world's fascination with dinosaurs. Although dinosaurs have always been popular, Steven Spielberg’s sophisticated cinema computer graphics thrilled human imagination with a wistful longing to see these great life forms.

What if we could actually bring them back to life?

Technological advances in molecular biology technology in the future might allow us to extract ancient DNA from fossilized dinosaur remains. Could we amplify it, replicate it, and implant it in a host such as an ostrich egg?

This tantalizing fantasy has become increasingly closer to reality with recent successful efforts to clone mammals. How close are we to creating a real Jurassic Park?

I hope not. It's not only because I don't think it's right but there are serious environmental and ethical issues about raising the dead. I'm currently working on a dinosaur project ... emmm ... let me qualify that, it's not a cloning project but one that uses robotics. The company is on the verge of creating mobile dino parks and the centre of attraction is a T-Rex that was originally used in the movie.

Imagine this, even with robotics, it is already a logistical nightmare! Can you imagine actually dealing with the real thing?

What do you call a dinosaur with one eye?
